    Your Guide on How to Change Coolant on Your Car

    Once you take a look at your car then it is the one that will need the right fluids to run efficiently. One of the important fluids that your car must have is the antifreeze or coolant. It is your car that will not overheat due to this one. This is needed since to absorbs excess heat in your engine. Keeping it on its normal level is an important thing.

    It is important to see to it that you are able to change your coolant depending on the mileage that it has. Most of the time, it is you that will have to change your coolant after 60,000 miles up to 100,000 miles. Checking your manual to know when you should change your coolant is a thing that you can also do. You need to remember that your coolant should not run low. If it does then there might be a leak in your radiator.

    Buying a new coolant for your car is one of the things that you need to do when changing it on your own. It is also important that you will be buying a radiator flush product. What this does is that it clears out your cooling system. Once you are ready with theses things then there are steps that you will need to follow.

    One of the first things that you need to do is mind your safety first. Always make sure that you will not be changing your coolant while the engine is running. Let the engine cool down first before doing the procedure.

    The next thing that you will need to do is to remove the radiator cap and locate the drain plug. You will need to place a pan under the drain plug to be able to catch the old coolant. Once you are ready, you can now loosen the plug and let the coolant drain into the pan.

    The next thing that you will need to do is to fill the cooling system with water. It is the remaining coolant that can be flushed out once you will do this one.

    The next thing that you need to do is to put the radiator cap back on and run the engine for at least 10 minutes. The water will flow once this is done. Turn of the car and let it cool again. You will need to do this process again for at least 3 times.

    Putting the radiator flush to the cooling system is the next thing that you need to do. Putting the radiator cap and running the engine again is a thing that you will need to do.

    If you are done running the engine then turn it off and et to cool down again. Closing the drain plug and pour the coolant into the cooling system is the next thing that you need to do.
